The new edition.
Lindqvist, Generation II.
The Lindqvist Footstool was considered an absolute necessity in nearly every Nordic home in the1950s and onward. After an intermission lasting half a century, it’s time for the long-awaited comeback. Only a minor upgrade and a new color palette distinguishes the new series from the 50s model, otherwise nothing has changed. The sturdy design, outstanding durability, and elegantly rounded shapes, it’s all there. Entirely manufactured in Sweden, as always.

Legendary design in Swedish steel.
The Lindqvist brand was part of Swedish Modern, which got its definitive breakthrough at the Stockholm Exhibition in 1930. Well-known designers such as Estrid Ericson and her co-worker Josef Frank would set the tone for this particular style, characterized by functionalism and clean lines.
Lindqvist was a collective force where innovation and drive preceded prestige. As a forerunner of Swedish tubular steel furniture, Lindqvist helped to modernize and improve both home and work environments for several decades. Today, the Lindqvist footstool is considered by many to be a symbol of the modern Nordic home, comparable to style icons such as the above mentioned Ericson-Franck, Bruno Mathson and Arne Jacobsen.
The legend lives on.
High-profile furniture design, female leadership and all-Swedish manufacturing. Then and now.
For a long period, Verkstads Ab Lindqvist was one of Sweden's leading manufacturers of office furnishing for private and public environments. The company's success was built on outstanding engineering skills that paved the way for inventive and highly functional chairs, cabinets and lounge groups.
When the company's visionary and founder, Tore Lindqvist, passed away at the age of 53, his only daughter Inger, then 23, took over as VABL’s new CEO; becoming Sweden's youngest female business leader for a large group.
The 2:nd generation carries on the legacy.
In 2022, history will begin a new chapter. The family-owned brand, Lindqvist, resurfaces with Ann Linderoth, daughter of Inger, as CEO of the company. The Lindqvist footstool is the company's first release. The legend lives on.
